We’re excited to share that Danielle Johnson has been promoted to Village Manager of Waratah Highlands and we thought this would be a great opportunity to get to know her.

Q: What is your role at Levande?  A: I’m the new Village Manager at both Waratah Highlands and Macquarie Grove.

Q: How long have you been at Waratah Highlands?  A: I’ve been part of the Waratah Highlands community for three years now. Most recently as the Assistant Village Manager and now as the Village Manager.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?  A: No two days are the same! As Village Manager, I take on lots of different roles, which keeps things interesting. I really enjoy being involved in so many aspects of village life.

Q: What kind of work did you do before joining Levande?  A: Before joining Levande, I worked at an accounting firm, helping businesses with their finances and paperwork. Over the years, I’ve also worked in finance, manufacturing, hospitality, health, and retail – a bit of everything!

Q: What do you think makes Waratah Highlands special?  A: It’s a beautiful place. We have lovely gardens, a peaceful walking track, and spacious villas. There’s also a modern community centre and, most importantly, a warm and welcoming group of residents.

Q: What’s the most rewarding part of your job?  A: For me, it’s working closely with the residents to help build an even stronger community. I love seeing people enjoying social activities, whether here in the village or out and about. It’s also very satisfying to hear positive feedback and see improvements come to life, thanks to our great team.

Q: What’s something about retirement living that people might not expect?  A: Retirement living can be full of life and joy! Many of our residents are busier than ever—with social events, hobbies, travel, or simply enjoying time with their families. It’s a wonderful way to live.

Q: How do you unwind outside of work?  A: I spend most of my free time with family, going for walks with my dog, travelling, and watching AFL. I’m a big supporter of the GWS Giants!
