We’ve got some exceptional achievers within our Queens Lake village- residents Jan and Fran recently made us all proud in Dragon Boat at the Australian Masters Games in Adelaide, which were held on the 13th and 14th of October 2023.

The Australian Masters Games are a sporting extravaganza featuring 76 diverse sports, where talent from Australia and beyond unite in the ultimate athletic showdown! Jan and Fran represented the Far North Coast of NSW in the Dragon Boat events, demonstrating their prowess in the intense 200-metre races.

Jan's paddle experience spans an impressive 17 years, and Fran proudly holds the title of the oldest active paddler in Australia, an honour bestowed by Dragon Boats NSW! Both Jan and Fran have been pivotal members of the Camden Haven Dragon Boat Club since its beginning, actively participating in various state and national races.

Recently Queens Lake, which our village is on the banks of, has practically become Jan and Fran's second home! This is as the Dragon Boat paddlers train on the stunning Camden Haven River, which Queens Lake opens up to.

The highlight of their triumphant journey? These incredible women returned home adorned with well-deserved Bronze Medals.
