South Australia is on a Roll!
Residents from across South Australia came together for the inaugural Inter Village Lawn Bowls Event at Hillsview Retirement Village, marking a day filled with camaraderie and friendly competition.
16 teams representing 9 of our 11 SA villages gathered at Hillsview on the bowling green for a day of lawn bowls. From seasoned players to newcomers, a total of 64 residents formed teams of 4, each bringing their unique spirit to the event.
The winners of the day were the Rink Masters from Somerton Park, Garry, Sandy, Paul and 91-year-old Dorothy, who has been a dedicated bowls player since 1972. Followed by the Village People from Somerton Park in second place and the Easy Beats from The Grange taking third place.
Following the spirited competition, residents enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch hosted by the South Australian team, accompanied by entertainment from the talented Hillsview resident band. The top three teams were awarded well-deserved trophies, highlighting their contribution to the day's festivities.
Attendees also had the chance to win exciting prizes through raffles, kindly sponsored by Five Good Friends.
The event was a celebration of community spirit and togetherness, showcasing the camaraderie in South Australia.
