Construction Begins at Levande Oatlands with Sod Turning Ceremony

Levande has proudly marked a major milestone in the delivery of our new Oatlands retirement living community, formally commencing construction with a sod turning ceremony held onsite on Monday 23 March.

The event brought together project partners, representatives of Oatlands Golf Club and members of Levande’s leadership team and staff to officially acknowledge the beginning of works. It represented a significant moment in the project’s journey, celebrating the collaboration, careful planning and shared vision that have guided the development to this point.

Guests gathered onsite for formal proceedings, including speeches from Khalil Hafza, Managing Director of Binah; Colin McRae, President of Oatlands Golf Club; and Kevin McCoy, CEO of Levande. Each speaker spoke to the significance of the project and shared their confidence and enthusiasm as the development moves into its next phase.

Following the speeches, key representatives participated in a symbolic sod turning, captured with Levande-branded shovels to mark the official start of construction. The ceremony concluded with a ceremonial tee-off on the golf course, underscoring the strong partnership between Levande and the club as the project transitions into active delivery.

Upon completion, Levande Oatlands will comprise two seven-storey buildings and two four-storey buildings, comprising 122 apartments alongside 13 thoughtfully designed townhomes within the established grounds of Oatlands Gold Club.

Although a brief rain shower passed through during the event, it did little to dampen the occasion. The day was distinguished by a sense of pride and anticipation for the future of Levande Oatlands, set to become one of the group’s most sought-after communities.
